Valeria Levinton Gnarovskaya (18 October 1923 – 23 September 1943) was a nurse in a rifle company.
In one of the halls of the Military Medical Museum in Leningrad exhibited painting by IM Penteshina, which captures the heroic feat Valerie Levinton Gnarovskoy/Gnarovskaya.
September 23, 1943 was brutal battle near the village Verbove Zaporozhye region. Enemy tanks broke through Russian defenses. One of them, leading the firing of cannons and machine guns, moved to the dressing station. Medical instructor VO Gnarovskaya, saving the lives of severely wounded soldiers, with a bunch of grenades fell under the tank and detonate it. Thus perished heroine.

When the battle ended in the village Verbove its residents found the body of VO Gnarovskoy and buried. After a year with full military honors was made reburial. Valeria Osipovna Gnarovskaya born October 18, 1923 in the village Modolitsy Plyussa district of Leningrad region to a postal worker. When she turned 5 years old, her parents moved to Podporozhsky district of Leningrad region. His father worked as a postmaster Yandeba, the mother was at home. After the seven-year parents staged a daughter studying in secondary school in the city Podporozhye, because there was not a ten-year school. In 1941, just before the war, Valeria successfully completed secondary school. The house was a lot of joy. The whole apartment was filled with flowers. And suddenly raided by the war. Her father went to the front. His mother took his place on the service, Valery began working at the post office.
In September 1941 Podporozhsky district has become a front-line. Gnarovskih Family: mother, younger sister Victoria, 75-year-old grandmother and Valeria got on the train in Siberia at the station Ishim Omsk region. The distribution of evacuees were sent to their family village Berdyuzhe, where the mother and Valery began working in the office of communications. From his father from the front, no letters. In July 1942 the division arrived at the Stalingrad front. In his memoirs, frontline girlfriend Valerie E. Doronin wrote:
"On approaches to the front, in the heat, the dusty road, in full gear, we walked day and night … Not far from the station Surovikino our unit came into effect. There were heavy fighting. .. Alarmingly in the soul, especially in the first few minutes. We are so confused that they were afraid to leave the shelter on the battlefield. Shots of artillery shells, bombs, explosions – all mixed up in a continuous roar. It breaks down everything on earth and crumbling earth under their feet. I remember: the first trench ran Valeria and shouted: "Comrades! For the Motherland, and not afraid to die! Come! – And without hesitation all left the trenches, rushed to the battlefield "
In the first battle VO Gnarovskaya, when acting as medical orderly infantry battalion, regiment surprised by the courage and fearlessness. After bloody fighting semnadtsatidnevnyh Division had been surrounded.Valeria bravely bore the full brunt of the fighting in the environment, performing sacred duty of the physician. In a letter to his mother on August 22, 1943 Valeria says that she's alive and well, again visited the hospital after concussion hard of hearing, but he hopes that everything will. She said:
"With 15/VIII on 21/VIII 1943 was a hot battle with Fritz. The Germans were eager for high-rise, where we were, but all their attempts were in vain to break through. Bravely and courageously fought our soldiers – all my dear and lovely friends … Many of them died a heroic death, but I'm still alive and if I was you, my dears, to say that I have worked on glory. About 30 seriously wounded soldiers made the battlefield."
During offensive operations VO Gnarovskaya appeared in the most dangerous sections among the soldiers, saved the lives of more than 300 wounded. In September 1943, at the village Verbove Valeria recently participated in the battle. She died a hero's death. In the premium on the sheet it says:
"In the battle for the city by the river Dolitsu Donetz made from the battlefield 47 wounded soldiers and officers. I personally killed 28 German soldiers. Under State Farm Ivanenkovo broken tanks. Sacrificing his life, blowing up tanks."

June 3, 1944 VO Gnarovskoy posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Village Verbove and farm wearing her name. In the city Podporozhye Leningrad region, where he spent his youth heroine, one of the main streets is named after her. The park pioneers in 1959, a monument.
